Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) or JEE Advanced 2018 is a national level examination scheduled to be held on May 20 administered by IIT Kanpur for admission to engineering programmes in the 23 IITs. JEE Advanced consists of two compulsory papers- paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 will be conducted from 9 am to 12 pm and paper 2 will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm. For the first time, JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The application form of JEE Advanced will be available to be filled online from May 2 to 7, 2018. Both the papers will have objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. IIT Kanpur had released the mock test of JEE Advanced on December 19 to make aspirants familiar with CBT mode of examination. JEE Advanced is conducted by the 7 zonal IITs under the guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB).

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2018
The eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2018 states the norms that candidates must fulfill to appear in JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced eligibility criteria include age requirement, academic qualification, total attempts among others. Candidates can check JEE Advanced eligibility criteria 2018 below:
Performance in JEE Advanced 2018- Only the top 2,24,000 JEE Main rank holders are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.
Age requirement- Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1993. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD candidates there is a relaxation of 5 years, i,e, they must be born on or after October 1, 1988.
Academic qualification- Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination at the first go in 2017 or 2018. They must have secured 75% (65% for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination. They also must be within the top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective board examination.
Number of attempts- The maximum number of attempts that a candidate can avail is two times in consecutive years.
Earlier admission at IITs- Candidates who accepted seats or admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether they have continued in the programme are not eligible for the entrance test.
JEE Advanced Admit Card 2018
JEE Advanced admit card will be issued to all registered candidates on May 14, 2018. JEE Advanced admit card 2018 will be released online and to download it candidates have to enter their registration number, date of birth, mobile number and email ID on the login page. Candidates have to take a print out of JEE Advanced 2018 admit card and take it along with them to the exam centre.
JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2018
JEE Advanced was held in pen and paper (P&P) based mode. The medium of the paper will be both in English and Hindi and candidates will be able to switch between the two languages any time during the examination if required. Some aspects of JEE Advanced question paper such as number of papers, subjects, question type, language medium and duration are announced before the examination.
