Common Law Admission Test 2018

CLAT 2018 – Online applications are invited for admission to Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Degree Programme in Law for the academic session 2018-19 in Nineteen National Law Universities of India.

CLAT 2018 will be held in a computer-based mode for admission to the 2372 LLB seats of the 19 participating National Law Universities (NLUs). Apart from the NLUs, the CLAT 2018 score will be accepted by various other participating law schools.

The Common Law Admission Test-2018 (CLAT) will be conducted by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) Kochion 13th May 2018 at the test Centers set up in different cities at the national level.

Eligibility for Common Law Aptitude Test 2018

Undergraduate Program (Five Year Integrated LLB (Hons))

Candidates should be Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of
(i) Forty Five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Speciality Abled Persons (SAP)/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and
(ii) Forty percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2018 are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit: Candidates should be below Twenty (20) years of age in case of Unreserved/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and below twenty-two (22) years in case of SC/ST /OBC/SAP categories as on 01st July 2018

Post-Graduate Programme (One Year LLM Course)

Candidates must be LLB or equivalent degree examination with a minimum of Fifty Five percent (55%) marks in case of Unreserved/OBC/SAP categories and Fifty percent (50%) in case of SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April / May 2018 are also eligible to apply.

CLAT 2018 Application Fee

Last year, the application fee was Rs. 4000 only (SC/ST: Rs. 3500). The CLAT application fee is non-refundable and candidates can pay the same via online as well as offline mode. To pay the application fee online, applicants can opt for Credit Card, Debit Card or Internet Banking. For the offline payment, the candidates can download and print the Challan during the application process. Here, the candidates can visit any branch of ICICI and deposit the cash.

  • Develop good command over English language & Reading skills
  • Have good command over grammar and vocabulary
  • Read editorials of newspapers, news magazines, novels, etc.
General Knowledge & Current Affairs Must have the knowledge of the changes in the national, international, political, geographical, etc. arenas by reading the newspapers, news magazines, yearbooks, etc.
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) Revise the Mathematics books of Class 10
Legal Aptitude
  • Develop the ability to solve problems related to the study of law
  • Have a sound knowledge of Legal propositions and facts
Logical Reasoning Here, candidates must make sure that they are able to identify the patterns, logical links, and solve arguments (legal). Questions will be based on syllogism, logical sequences and analogies
